I do the same with the peaches; when it looks pretty good, I stop and let it dry for a few days.
In the meantime, I will paint the rest of the canvas.
It's Friday, I stop painting on Saturday and Sunday... family obligations! The fruit section is practically finished, so the rest isn't at risk of going bad.
