Step 45/47

← Step 44/47→ Step 46/47

By explaining my technique in an impersonal way, I'm afraid of giving the impression that I'm merely reproducing what's in front of me. In reality, a lot of things happen that I can't explain, and sometimes I completely lose track of time. I find myself two hours into a session without knowing what I've done.

I touched up the metal a bit, the light reflected in the bottle's glass, an extra little reflection on the fig. I describe it by looking at the result, but often, I feel as if someone else has taken my place and the painting progressed without my intervention. It's a bit like being in an altered state.
